Merchant support

Clear answers before you connect your business.

The operational details behind plans, approvals, documents, and payment integrations.

Can I start without paying?

Yes. You can create an account and begin in the sandbox before choosing a paid plan. Starter is designed for early validation and includes the core onboarding, KYC, QR, and payment-intent tools, with usage limits shown in your workspace so there are no surprises.

How do I apply for a merchant account?

Select Start onboarding and complete the guided application in three stages: business identity, contact details, and secure access. After account creation, upload the requested registration, identity, tax, and settlement documents from your onboarding checklist.

When do I receive live credentials?

Sandbox credentials are available for testing while your application is being reviewed. Live credentials are issued only after operations approves the merchant account and the selected plan supports live API access.

How does document review work?

Upload clear, current documents in PDF, JPG, or PNG format. Operations reviews each checklist item independently and can approve it, reject it with a reason, or request a replacement. Your workspace shows the status of every document and the next action required.

What happens when I hit my transaction limit?

Your dashboard shows current-period usage, remaining capacity, and applicable limits. You can review available plans and upgrade before creating more payment intents; declined requests do not silently bypass the limit.

How do customers pay my business?

After approval, your merchant number and signed QR tools are available in the portal. Customers can enter the merchant number in the DSD PAY app or scan the QR code, verify your business information, enter an amount, and approve the payment securely.

How do settlements work?

Add a supported bank account from the Settlements page by selecting the bank and submitting the account details. Operations verifies the destination before withdrawals are allowed. Completed withdrawals debit the merchant wallet and appear in transaction history with their reference and fee.

Do plans include wallet features?

Plans cover merchant tooling and payment operations. Consumer wallet capabilities such as transfers, requests, splits, notifications, and mobile money remain available through the DSD PAY wallet experience.

Can I test before approval?

Yes. Use the sandbox environment and test credentials while your merchant application is pending. Live payment credentials, live QR acceptance, and payouts remain approval-gated until your review is complete.

How is customer payment data protected?

Payments use signed identifiers, authenticated approval flows, server-side validation, rate limits, and audit records. Never ask customers to send passwords, one-time codes, or private keys through chat or an invoice note.
